Benjamin Miller, a hair stylist at LOX Salon in the Old City, believes that a strong sense of confidence can begin with a good look: “Start with great hair by using great hair products.” Thus, he’s starting his own hair-care products company, developing waxes, pomades, and conditioners in his home. Eventually, he’d like his endeavor, Anchors Hair Company, to “encourage less privileged youth to accomplish goals and keep the fire of ambition alive” by donating a portion of its profits to youth programs. In the meantime, he needs to get supplies: containers, labels, bulk ingredients, double boilers and hot plates to make the products. You can make donations at and learn more at
