Knox Blog of the Month:
Okay, so artist R.L. Gibson’s “food-themed art blog” isn’t Knoxville-based per se (she lives in Gatlinburg), but we’ll still claim it (just like the Smokies). The “xerographist” (she creates compositions utilizing layered graphics) focuses on, yes, food and art—or more specifically, she blogs about art contests’ call for entries while using food themes. The information is very useful, and the sense of whimsy should appeal to fellow artists of all mediums. Meanwhile, Gibson will be leading a discussion on “How To Get an Art Show” on Wed., March 20, noon-1 p.m., at the Emporium Center (free for members of the Arts & Culture Alliance, $5 for non-members). Learn more about Gibson at rlgibson.com.
