Karl Wagner as Festival Headliner

“I think Knoxville needs an annual horror and fantasy festival in honor of our greatest-ever horror writer, Karl Edward Wagner, one of the most renowned horror writers of the 20th century. There is an annual fantasy award in his name each year in London. If you check out the Karl Wagner fans Facebook page, you will see a number of fans in the U.S. and in other countries have suggested a Knoxville festival on, apparently, their own initiative, saying they’d consider coming from as far away as St. Petersburg—Russia, not Florida—to attend. I believe such a festival could be even bigger than the Rossini Festival, as I believe there are, perhaps, for better or worse, more horror fans than opera fans.”
