Trend Shows Fewer Losing Homes

Statistics show more people have been able to buy houses in recent months, and in Knox County it appears that fewer people are losing them.

During the first six months of 2012. Foreclosures were running an average of 114 per month, for a total of 684 from January through June.

During the same period for 2013, the average has dropped to 94, or a total of 564.

For the first six months of 2010 by comparison, foreclosures totaled 813, or an average of 136 a month. Foreclosures began rising in Knox County in 2008 during the housing crisis.
