The Black Lillies Announce New Album and Tennessee Theatre Concert

Following the breakthrough success of their 2011 sophomore album, 100 Miles of Wreckage, the Black Lillies are just about ready to unveil their next disc, with a big release show at the Tennessee Theatre scheduled for March.

The local Americana favorites—Cruz Contreras, Trisha Gene Brady, Tom Pryor, Robert Richards, and Jamie Cook—recorded Runaway Freeway Blues, the band’s third album, at Scott Minor’s Wild Chorus studio in Knoxville during breaks from more than 200 2012 tour dates. The new album is set for national release on March 26.

Since the release of Wreckage, the Black Lillies have become regulars on Country Music Television’s video request countdown with the songs “Same Mistakes” and “Two Hearts Down,” and have performed at the Grand Ole Opry more than a dozen times.

The Runaway Freeway Blues concert will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 8 p.m., with Pennsylvania singer/songwriter Langhorne Slim opening. Tickets are $26.50.
