Lonesome Coyotes Recruit Original Guitarist Hector Qirko for February Show

When local blues/jazz/rock guitar hero Hector Qirko moved from Knoxville to Charleston, S.C., almost three years ago, we all knew nobody would ever quite fill his spot. We’re lucky, then, that Qirko is only a few hours away and can make it back into town for the occasional show with his former band, the Lonesome Coyotes—like the one the band has scheduled for the Grove Theater in Oak Ridge on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The influential country-rock combo has have been on hiatus since Qirko moved in 2010, and have only performed once since then—a March 2011 show at Buddy’s Bar-B-Q Banquet Hall in Bearden. Next month’s performance will also feature a set by Dana Paul, formerly of the ’70s Knoxville band Rich Mountain Tower. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door.
