The Hard Rock Cafe in Gatlinburg is gearing up for the opening rounds of Hard Rock Rising, the company’s worldwide band competition, with registration open now through Jan. 21 and local performances set for Feb. 18-April 15.
That’s the easy part. The details of registration get a little complicated: Each aspiring band must create (or already have) a ReverbNation.com page with at least 50 fans. The next step is following the Hard Rock Cafe Facebook page. Then there’s a voting period for fans. Then the winner of each local contest is entered into another round of online fan voting, which will select 25 finalists, from which an industry panel will choose a grand-prize winner.
