Members of Knoxville’s Salomé Cabaret burlesque troupe have done quite well in competition—creative director Siren Santina represented the U.S. in last year’s World Burlesque Games in London. And now they’d like to hit the festival circuit. What is it that they do, exactly? Here’s how they explain it: “Salomé Cabaret’s unique brand of humor straddles the line between smart wit and outright Baptist blaspheme and is definitely not for the weak of heart or easily offended.” And we think the world could definitely use more of that.
