Lincoln-Douglas it Ain't

Stand-up comic and former Knoxville radio host J. LaLonde says he and state Sen. Stacey Campfield have agreed to debate Campfield’s controversial bills and the proceeds from the event will go toward charity—either they agree on one or split the money and contribute to two.

In an open letter to Campfield posted on LaLonde’s blog, the comic says he will come to Knoxville at a venue and time agreeable and “I promise to only debate in places you are still welcome.” LaLonde says in the letter that Campfield rejected his suggestion that Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett moderate the event. LaLonde also suggests that the event be streamed live on the Internet.

As of this writing the venue, date and time have yet to be decided.
