Contributions Now Tax Deductible

The Clean Water Expected in East Tennessee group has announced it has secured 501(c)(3) status, making it a tax deductible public charity, which should help it with fund-raising.

CWEET was formed by river guides on the Pigeon River in Cocke County in 2006 to fight river pollution by an upstream paper mill in North Carolina.

The educational group has since expanded to promote sustainable agriculture, community gardens and promoting healthy locally produced food as well as continuing to try and clean up of the river.
