Popular Anchor to Return

Ted Hall, who spent 18 years at WBIR before moving to Atlanta, is coming back to Knoxville and will be joining WVLT.

Hall worked his way up to evening anchor at WBIR, Knoxville’s NBC affiliate, and won the job of replacing the popular Bill Williams when he retired. Hall went to WXIA in Atlanta in 2006 and then moved to morning anchor there in 2011. Hall announced on his Facebook page in October that he would be leaving the Atlanta station.

WVLT broadcasters have posted Facebook welcomes to Hall, saying he will join the station in January.

Hall was a popular anchor in Knoxville and was able to maintain Williams’ numbers and keep WBIR on top of the local ratings. He has been replaced by John Becker.
