Well, Duh!

Some health care professionals are not thrilled about Gov. Bill Haslam’s Healthier Tennessee initiative.

It is an $18 million ad campaign suggesting that people exercise more, eat right, and stop smoking. Wow! Who knew?

They argue that $18 million could have hired nurse practitioners for all county health departments or funded places like the Interfaith Health Clinic for the working poor.

The program will use $6.5 million in state funds and raise at least $12 million from private sources to pay for the campaign. The foundation running the program is headed by Rick Johnson, a former Ruby Tuesday executive.
