Knoxville is No. 6 for Heart Attacks!

Well, here’s one ranking you probably won’t see touted on local booster websites. According to the financial website 24/7 Wall St., the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index reveals that Knoxville is safely within the top 10 cities where the most people have heart attacks. Also cross-referencing census data on median income, poverty rates, and educational attainment, the site concluded, “Physical health in Knoxville is worse than most of the country.” The survey also revealed that 6.3 percent of respondents here reported having a heart attack—a figure tied for fifth-highest.
