Kentucky TV Ads to Get Boring

So can the Republican Senatorial Committee drop their subscription to Mr. Skin?

Nashville resident and Tennessee delegate to the Democratic National Convention Ashley Judd has announced she will not run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. Republican PACs had already begun to run ads critical of Judd not being a Kentucky resident and political blogs were speculating about the actress having liberal views on social issues and her opposition to mountaintop-removal mining, a source of many Eastern Kentucky jobs.

There had begun to be speculation in national blogs that some of Judd’s racy movie roles might become an issue. There is precedent, in that Scott Brown’s layout in Playgirl magazine was an issue in his Massachusetts senate race. (Though Brown won that race.)

The final reason Judd may have dropped out of the race was former president Bill Clinton calling on Kentucky Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes, who has the support of the Kentucky Democratic establishment, to oppose McConnell.
