Knoxville Online Tool of the Month
The Knoxville, Knox County, Knoxville Utilities Board Geographic Information System (KGIS) may not have the most exciting name, but the municipal geographic information resource does have a pretty nifty new online map. Officially launching Oct. 1, KGIS Maps replaces the 12-year-old KNOXnetWhere with not only a much easier to remember name, but also fresher data (updated weekly) in a more browser-friendly interface. You can quickly access those ever-changing political and school district maps, zoning maps, census tracts, traffic counts, and even those controversial hillside protection areas. (Does the UN know we have this information?!) And, of course, you can always find out who owns what house/building in your neighborhood.
