I’d like to add to M. Hupfel’s excellent letter. Were the supporters of measures such as the “Life Defense Act” truly interested in preventing abortions, they would support the many alternatives to it: education especially of women, family planning, contraception, teen counseling. By opposing such preventive measures, the number of abortions increases along with the number of deaths from attempted abortions, from unwanted pregnancies, and from unwanted children.
