"I did not then, and I do not now, feel that I was 'forced out’ by the university."

—Pat Summitt’s statement, issued Friday, Oct. 5, regarding the “misunderstandings” prompted by her sworn affidavit filed in U.S. District Court on the previous Wednesday. The affidavit was for Debby Jenning’s lawsuit against the University of Tennessee and Athletic Director Dave Hart, which alleges “unlawful discrimination and retaliation.”
