Size Matters?

“The Ed and Bob Show” on WNOX won a key talk radio ratings category in the latest ratings book. Ed Brantley and Bob Thomas, for the summer book, scored a 5.4 percent share of the target audience of 25-54 men in morning drive time.

Cumulus Broadcasting moved its talk-show operation, headlined by Hal Hill in the morning drive and Phil Williams in the afternoon, to another station rather than continue to lease the expensive 100,000 watt WNOX, owned by John Pirkle. WNOX put in place its own all-day talk-radio format with Ed and Bob, and also includes Dave Ramsey and a sports call-in show in the afternoon.

The Cumulus group is now on News Talk 98.7 (formerly WOKI) and broadcasts at 8,000 watts. Morning drive on News Talk 98.7 in the 25-54 men demographic was a 4.0 share.
