A Sporting Chance for Downtown

An ongoing series of suggestions for civic improvement

"Knoxville needs a downtown outdoor sports venue for high school football, baseball, and soccer. It would bring more revenue to downtown restaurants and merchants—a lot of people don’t have a reason to come downtown. It could also be the place for playoffs and tournaments. That’s how my hometown of Williamsburg, Va. does it. They play double-headers on Saturday and Friday nights, so you can go and see two ball games. You could have concerts there, too—my ideal place would be to put it right in the middle of World’s Fair Park."
