NTB renovates restaurant site for its newest shop, and celebrates with a car show

National Tire & Battery, or NTB as they’re known, recently opened a new location at 8088 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. A site most Knoxvillians knew for its ever-changing restaurants, it was Don Pablo’s Mexican restaurant prior to NTB.

With a complete renovation, there are still a few remnants of the former restaurant such as decorative railings outside and the ornate windows, but once inside there are product displays, service counters, and a waiting area. Beyond that, hydraulic lifts, tire balancers, an alignment rack and other equipment have replaced what was once the kitchen and storage area. Roll-up doors along the back and side of the building make for easy ingress or egress.

To draw attention to the new store, NTB held a car show and provided free food for all the participants and spectators. With access to large parking areas shared with the adjacent strip mall, no doubt they’ll have opportunities to hold more shows in the future. With a reputation for good prices and quality service, the outlook for NTB here is decidedly better than any of the restaurants that preceded it.

NTB was created in 1997 through the merger of Tire America and National Tire Warehouse. Then in 2003, NTB was bought by Florida-based Tire Kingdom, to form a nationwide group of auto care centers along with Big O Tires and Merchant’s Tire & Auto Centers.
