The Knoxville Transportation Authority wants your comments on the proposed elimination of the Cedar Bluff Express. Problem #1: low ridership. Bigger Problem #2: its Park & Ride lot will no longer be available on Sept. 30, and no free replacements have appeared yet.
State Street Parking Garage Expansion

The beloved State Street Garage is about to get an upgrade, and this meeting will present the plans—which include an elevated walkway from the garage over State Street, which will surely function more reliably than the escalator.

Blighted Properties Action
9:30 a.m., Small Assembly Room, City County Building.
The city’s war on blight continues at this meeting, wherein David Brace, director of the Public Service Department, will consider issuing repair or demolition orders on a number of properties that have received notices of violation of city building codes.

Ijams Hummingbird Festival

Ijams and the Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society present an afternoon of hummingbird activities, including a vendor fair, banding demonstration, and lecture. (Admission to the outdoor vendor fair is free.)
