Richard Floyd, R-Chattanooga, theorizing on how he would react if a man should ever try to enter a dressing room containing his wife or one of his daughters, to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Floyd was the House sponsor of a bill that would have made it a misdemeanor to use a public bathroom that does not match the violator’s gender listed on their birth certificate. The bill, now withdrawn, was aimed at transgender individuals.
