James White Parkway Extension Meeting
5 p.m., South-Doyle Middle School (3900 Decatur Rd.)
TDOT is seeking public comment on their various plans to extend the unfinished James White Parkway in South Knoxville. Here are some quick pointers. Pros: It will allow tourists to get that much faster to Sevier County. But not as fast as I-40. Cons: It will destroy neighborhoods, plow through parks, upend plans to promote Knoxville’s urban wilderness as a destination, further hurt local businesses, and not fix Chapman Highway. So what do you think?
