Sassy Glass Studio/Lisa Mueller

Along with hand-crafting fused glass art at her brightly-colored, aptly named Sassy Glass Studio in Knoxville, Lisa Mueller now teaches glass-fusing classes throughout the year and somehow finds time to be a partner with her husband in ALM Photo. Maybe the organization skills required for a schedule like that inspired her fused-glass dry erase boards, a recent innovation she’s also selling at the Market Square Holiday Market (Dec. 8, 15, and 22 from 12 noon-7 p.m.) Poised to capture love-notes and grocery lists, the boards are definitely bright and classy, but along with their good looks Mueller assures us the glass is properly annealed to ensure strength and a nonporous surface, and that standard dry-erase markers wipe off the 8-inch x 6-inch surfaces quite handily. Other designs include bright sunbursts and kitchen-y looking grape clusters, and the boards hang from either wire or ribbon. Other notables from Mueller for the season of giving include soothing glass night-lights and glass pendants, one sporting a reindeer sporting a scarf. Mueller does custom color combos on most any item and makes a special arrangement for Knoxvillians who want to cut Etsy shipping costs and pick up locally.
