We’ve been getting press releases lately from local businesses proudly announcing their Best of Knoxville awards. This is especially interesting to us since we did not actually award them ourselves—they were issued by an organization dubbed the “Knoxville Award Program.” According to one press release, their awards were determined by using “various sources of information” that were “gathered and analyzed.”
Needless to say, these are not official Best of Knoxville awards, which is a readers poll we started in 1994 (and have since trademarked the name of). So if you are a local business owner tempted to buy such a trophy, please consider the source. If it’s not coming from Metro Pulse, it’s not really the “Best of Knoxville.”
