Breeding’s Candidacy May Be Decided in Court

The Knox County Election Commission will meet this morning (Thursday, April 19) to decide whether to ask the county law director to ask a judge to determine if Shelley Breeding can be on the ballot to run for a Knox County House seat.

The county line runs through Breeding’s property in the new House district in northwest Knox County. Her address (and driveway) is in Knox County and her house is in Anderson County. She is a Knox County voter and is on jury duty this week in Knox County.

The election commission here sent the issue up to the state election commission office, and they advised that a judge would have to decide one way or the other.

The vote by the election commission will be on whether to take the issue to court and get a decision before ballots are printed.
