Sir, I don’t know if you ever actually look at the content of the Comics page, but I would like to suggest that Lovey Loverson [“Hearts”] be given a psychiatric intervention.
After an initial round of killing and mutilations of her characters, the focus shifted to a lame story about the artist’s persecution complex. Then went back to killing characters for sick laughs. As you may deduce, I am not a fan.
I continue to read your paper for the excellent journalism and crossword puzzle, but the comics have gone to the dogs. “Mild Abandon” is pretty decent, but the rest is just “A Cannonade of HOGWASH.”
I realize that you may have contracts with these people, but really, maybe it would be worth breaking them just in the name of decency.
