Joy of Music School Schedules Benefit Concert

The Joy of Music Schoolis one of our favorite local organizations—we donated all the proceeds from admission to this summer’s 20Fest music festival to the organization, after all. And who can argue with free music lessons for children who couldn’t otherwise afford them?

So the school’s upcoming Holiday Sparkles and Spirits benefit on Friday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. at Cherokee Mills, on the corner of Sutherland Avenue and Concord Street, is a genuine special occasion. First, there’s a performance of holiday songs by students from the program, including the Joy of Music youth choir. Second, it’s a big-time gala benefit, featuring hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and both live and silent auctions from local and regional vendors. (Also, you can tell it’s a pretty special event by the dress code—semiformal attire is requested.) Tickets are $85; three VIP tables for 10 are available at $670 each. Call (865) 525-6806 to order.
