Best Local Website
Metropulse.com
Most of you who voted were actually on our website when you voted for it, so this partly may be a win by association. But this year we also have a revamped metropulse.com that is vastly easier to navigate than our previous one, thanks to the hardy crew at the Scripps Web department. It also looks better, functions better, and reads better. So, yep, we’ll take the win. (C.T.)

Best Local Facebook Cause Page
Henry’s Fund
Katie Granju’s Mamapundit was already a nationally popular “mommy blog,” but it gained even more attention through the tragic circumstances surrounding the drugs-related death of Granju’s son, Henry, last year. Devastated, Granju wrote entries on her blog about the heart-wrenching experience, sharing details of the ongoing trauma and its aftermath—and in turn annoying local officials charged with investigating Henry’s death. A year later, dissatisfied with that investigation, Granju started posting the results of her own examination of her son’s case—challenging authorities to do better and utilizing social media to spread her message. Whether you agree with her approach or not, it’s been a gripping example of personal communication in the digital era. (C.T.)
