Level Playing Field?

The Legislature has authorized the establishment of new distilleries around the state, in addition to existing Tennessee institutions like Jack Daniels and George Dickel. But we hear the new distilleries are getting frequent visits from state agencies doing inspections and asking for costly changes, leading distillers to wonder if some powerful someone in the liquor industry is trying to disrupt the challenge to the status quo.

Seems the “newbies” are being asked to do things the old “grandfathered” institutions have not been required to do—like put expensive covers over the vats where the mash works before it is distilled.
