It is troubling that the GOP-controlled Legislature recently sent to Gov. Haslam a bill that would exempt citizens from the federal requirement to carry health insurance. Apparently, these conservatives do not see the absurdity of their labeling of teachers as “freeloaders” while considering those who refuse to buy health insurance as “sons and daughters of liberty.”
