The Knoxville Track Club’s 27th annual evening race starts at 9, with kids’ 200-yard dashes kicking things off at 8:15.

Monday, July 4

Festival on the 4th

2-10 p.m., World’s Fair Park. Free.

The Independence Day festivities includes food and family activities all day, with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra taking the stage at 8 p.m. and fireworks starting at 9:35 p.m.

Wednesday, July 6

Knox County Board of Education

5 p.m., Main Assembly Room, City County Building

School board members promise they’ll be back from the holiday weekend in time for their monthly meeting.
