I’d like to comment on the recent “Saving Austin-East” article. [cover story by Jesse Fox Mayshark, May 5, 2011] Although A-E does have its challenges, the school and entire community should be proud of its alumni. My daughter graduated from A-E Magnet High School in 2003 as did her friends. In tracing their strides, all have graduated from universities; several have Masters Degrees; and all have promising careers in the fields of interior design, architecture, music, and education. Indeed, they are intelligent, talented, and motivated. A-E must be commended for providing them with such a positive learning environment.
