Stephanie Piper has been distinguishing our pages with her fine prose and thoughtful observations through her monthly column, Midpoint, since the mid-’90s. Last weekend, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies recognized her talent with a second-place honor for Columns at the 2011 Alt Weekly Awards (competing in the under-50,000 circulation division). This is a national award, given by our peers in the alt-weekly industry, so it means quite a bit to us. Please join us in congratulating Stephanie!
