Superdrag singer and guitarist John Davis and local scene stalwart Stewart Pack (Pegclimber, Stewart Pack and the Silent Kays) have a new side project in the works while Davis finishes up his next solo album with Grammy-winning producer (and Knoxville native and former Hypertribe bassist) Nick Raskulinecz. Called Epic Ditch, the new high-speed band recalls Davis’ local punk bands from the early ’90s and features Davis and Pack on guitar and vocals, Raskulinecz on bass, and Nick Slack on drums. On the Superdrag website, Davis describes the band as “a proper Skate Rock band” designed “to combine the stoke factor of the first three Motörhead records, Bad Brains’ ROIR Sessions, and My War-era Black Flag into a tasty new high-octane blend.” The band has just finished recording an EP, which should be available in the spring.
