Help the Black Lillies Win an Independent Music Award

The Black Lillies, Cruz Contreras’ current band, has been nominated for an Independent Music Award for their debut album, Whiskey Angel. (The band’s second album, 100 Miles of Wreckage, was released in January.) Whiskey Angel has been nominated for best album in the Americana category alongside Nashville singer/songwriter Erika Chambers, Florida’s Jubal’s Kin, Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three from St. Louis, and the Texas songwriter who performs under the name Possessed by Paul James. CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story reported that Cruz Contreras of the Black Lillies would be reuniting with his ex-wife Robinella for the Frettin' for Food benefit concert in Maryville in March. Robinella will be performing at the benefit, but a CC String Band reunion is still undecided.
