Fierce and Fancy Formals Fashion Show Benefits Haiti Charities

The Fierce and Fancy Formals Fashion Show will benefit local non-profits Haiti Outreach Program and University of Tennessee affiliate club Give Haiti Hope—and provide cost-effective prom dresses for area teens. The two charities, dedicated to improving the lives of Haitians living in Boucan-Carre, Haiti, hope to duplicate last year’s nearly $10,000 raised and around 600 gowns donated at the event Friday and Saturday Feb. 25-26. The fashion show and pre-dress sale will take place on Friday night at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and will include select new and gently worn formal dresses donated locally and dry-cleaned by Prestige Cleaners. The fashion show will also include a silent auction with items for promgoers donated by local businesses and an area where vendors may speak to attendees about prom goods or services. Only attendees of the fashion show will be able to view and purchase certain gowns, with the remainder going on sale Saturday at 5409 Kingston Pike (formerly the If It’s Paper building)—admission is free.
