Best and Brightest Out of Scores?

Will high school value-added scores take a hit next time around?

Students who take advance placement and other advanced college prep courses are not included in regular testing—the material they cover is not the material covered in the value-added scores. That means the best student in each high school will not be included in the state-mandated testing program.

The question is whether there are enough of these exempted students to lower the average test scores for state high schools under No Child Left Behind.
