Former Knoxville Mayor and Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe and Tom Ingram, staff guy to the Republican establishment, are not known to be buddies. In fact, relations between the two are said to be “strained.”
But that hasn’t prevented them from joining forces, sort of. Ingram is going to work for presidential candidate Jon Huntsman as a political consultant. Ashe met with Huntsman recently, was impressed with him, and has agreed to support him. He will be hosting a fund-raiser for Huntsman at his home in mid-October. (Huntsman is a former ambassador himself, having just stepped down as President Barack Obama’s envoy to China. We don’t know if he and Ashe compared notes on their WikiLeaks disclosures.)
