90 Proof

106 S. Central St.
Located atop the Southbound nightclub, 90 Proof usually hosts private events but opened their doors for 20Fest in our hour of need.

Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria

200 E. Jackson Ave.
This huge bar and restaurant has live music nearly every night, with big out-of-town acts like Lucero and local headliners like R.B. Morris and Royal Bangs packing the house on weekend nights.

The Crown and Goose

123 S. Central St.
Knoxville’s only London-style gastropub has live music on Wednesdays and weekends, specializing in R&B and soul and classic rock. Check out their new “Underground” performance room.

Latitude 35

16 Market Square
Latitude 35 offers everything from dancing to family nights, and it also includes the Scarecrow Singer Songwriter night and the K-Town Writers in the Round Show with WDVX.

Morelock Music

411 S. Gay St.
This eclectic store, which sells vintage instruments, vinyl, and clothing, hosts a few concerts every month by acclaimed touring folk and acoustic acts.

Pilot Light

106 E. Jackson Ave.
This small club has hosted adventurous and experimental local music, up-and-coming indie bands (Dirty Projectors, the Black Keys, and Deerhunter all played there), and legendary underground performers (Pere Ubu, Blue Cheer, and Can’s Damo Suzuki).

Preservation Pub

28 Market Square
The cornerstone of Market Square nightlife features live music most nights, upstairs and down, from up-and-coming local bands to national roots and rock performers.

The Square Room

4 Market Square
The listening room behind Cafe 4 hosts alt-rock bands, singer/songwriters, the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, and regular dinner concerts with acts like John Cowan, Samantha Crain, and Knoxville’s own Robinella.


Hanna’s Old City

102 S. Central St.
Two dance floors plus a huge patio right on the corner of Jackson and Central in the Old City.

Old City Entertainment Venue

118 South Central St.
This full-service venue features dancing, private party rooms, and a tapas menu.
