Johnny Winter

The albino guitarist from Texas has been playing the blues since the 1960s.

The Wing Project

Local carnival and circus troupe offers fire, magic, dance, aerial acrobatics, comedy, and music.

Sunday, Aug. 14

Grace Adele

8 p.m. Sunday, Barley’s Taproom.

Adele has a big voice and a nice line in torch songs, twang, Tin Pan Alley, and honky-tonk originals.

Monday, Aug. 15

School’s in!

The 2011-12 Knox County public school year begins with a half-day for all students.

Compassion Knoxville Report

6:30 p.m., Main Assembly Room, City County Building

The citizens task force on homelessness will discuss their report and recommendations.
