Got a favorite local scribe, sage, or ink-stained wretch you want to shower with affection? How about a nomination to the East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame? Friends of Literacy is accepting nominations for its eighth set of inductees. There are five categories: lifetime achievement, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and (new this year) social media. Those selected will join past honorees like Cormac McCarthy, Nikki Giovanni, Marilyn Kallet, and some guy named Neely. Deadline for nominations is Monday, Aug. 8.
