Suppose they had a City Council election and no one came?
While candidates are busily running for Knoxville mayor, the City Council races appear to be in flux. There is no candidate filed at this point for at-large Seat B, for instance. Archie Ellis had picked up a petition, but has since said he doesn’t intend to run. Former state Sen. Bill Owen may file for the seat.
For Seat A, there are three candidates: John Stancil, George Wallace, and Michael McBath (who ran an entertaining, zero-budget campaign for county mayor last year).
For Seat C, there are two candidates, former County Commissioner Finbarr Saunders and Sharon Welch. Russell Kuhlman has decided not to run.
Former County Commissioner Mark Campen is the only candidate listed for the 5th District seat.
The deadline for qualifying for City Council races is June 16.

Hasn't Tierney Bates announced his intention to run for seat B?
