There’s a great deal to discuss regarding the Ten-Year Plan for the chronically homeless, plus the many perpetual service providers for those who abuse the generosity of many year after year.

However, I must stop there out of respect and admiration for one of the most honest and reflective accounts of real-life downtown experiences, which was that of Brian Margetts in Metro Pulse. [“Empirical Data for the Ten-Year Plan,” Letters, Sept. 2, 2010] I have no idea who he is nor what business he owns. I just know that, with other friends doing business in and around downtown, he is not alone.

City leaders that are left, before transferring to Nashville, and what is left of the newly regressive CBID Board should listen. Someday, when the status-quo is out and creative leaders are in place, they will. I promise.
