“Meet” a Supreme Court Justice

It’s a big week for the University of Tennessee. On Tuesday, beleaguered GOP Chairman Michael Steele gave his take on the political scene to UT students, for whatever that’s worth. On Saturday, Florida comes to town, and after last weekend’s walloping, it could make for a long day. And on Friday, the College of Law will welcome U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to speak—something he rarely does in public. Thomas is one of four conservative members on the court, having been appointed under President George H.W. Bush in 1991. He’ll likely receive a warmer reception than the Gators, but Thomas plans to attend the game so he can judge that for himself.

Unfortunately, unless you know someone on the inside, scoring tickets to the lecture will be tough. The speech will be webcast live, so if you want to see what Thomas has to say to the UT students, head to utk.edu before 12:45 p.m. Friday.
