As a UT history major, I enjoyed your article about steamboats and their contribution to the city’s history and development. [“Maritime Gone By,” Secret History by Jack Neely, Sept. 30, 2010] So overpowering was the city’s importance as a rail hub during the Civil War, people often forget that Knoxville was first and foremost a river town.
So might we have an article about the Sultana?
