Occupation: Prophet and spiritual advisor
Where are you from?
I was born in Knoxville, but I was raised in Japan and North Carolina. I came back here in ’91. One day God just spoke to me and told me to move back here. There are people that need my help and guidance.
When did you discover your spirituality?
I always knew but it really clicked around age 15. I had seen other spirits and angels. My intuition kicked in. I don’t have any formal training. I don’t think it can be trained. It has to already be in you. If being a spiritual advisor was for everyone, it wouldn’t be a gift. My mother is my spiritual advisor. I can be thinking about something and then she’ll call and already know what’s going on. I’m definitely a genie. Not a Hollywood genie, but a real one. Genies are prophets—the original ones before men were. There are good genies and bad genies. The bad ones try to cling to your aura and suck your energy. But if you have Christ in your life, you can keep the bad ones away. Wishes and prayers are the same. You have to be careful what you wish and pray for. The key is to know who you are, where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going.
What do you love about Knoxville?
The energy and diversity of different people. Knoxville is kind of like one big satellite in space. Everybody stops here for a reason: to meet people, do business, learn, or rest. You can’t leave Knoxville without learning something. I plan on staying here until God tells me to go some other place.
How would you describe your personal style?
It’s really a collective of different styles. Wherever I go, things call to me. It can be a unicorn, a lamp—it’s not about the looks of it but how I feel and how the spirit feels in it. Flesh passes away. Spirit is eternal. The more color the better to express the light and myself. I ask, do you want to be a stick or a tree? A tree can produce fruit. A stick can’t. Oh wow, the Holy Spirit is talking to me!
Tunic: A friend got it for me in Mexico, a month ago.
Jewelry: A collection from many places; some I made, some friends got for me in Egypt.
