On Thursday, the city will hold a workshop on the development tools at the city’s disposal and how they’re used to create business parks, such as the one being proposed for Midway. (County Commission voted to defer action on that controversial proposal until the next government takes over—see Citybeat, page 12.) Councilwoman Brenda Palmer has invited the Chamber of Commerce and the Development Corporation to explain how these parks help attract businesses to a region, so if you’re at all hazy on what industrial parks are, why they’re important, and whether the area needs another one, it might be worth checking out. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. in the main assembly of the City-County building.
