Runners Up: Aubrey’s, Cafe 4, Nama
The Tomato Head is the all-time winningest Best of Knoxville champion, scooping up multiple awards every year we’ve run the contest since 1996. And with good reason: Owners Mahasti Vafaie and Scott Partin are setting the bar for local businesses. Their original dishes are made with fresh, local ingredients; the menu is almost void of transfats (aside from the delicious peanut butter pie); and they also recycle on site and save organic waste to be used as compost. With that kind of business model—not to mention the fact that their food is delicious—it’s no wonder they inspire diners (and voters) year after year. (C.T.)
