This sunny soul-food buffet near Chilhowee Park, now a full decade old, has become an East Knoxville institution. Beloved by several races, Chandler's is a destination for people who live miles away, and the handiest way for West Knoxvillians to brag about their East Knoxville cred. Getting to know your city has never been so delicious. They offer fried chicken, barbecue ribs, catfish, collards, sweet potatoes, fried okra, black-eyed peas, fried green tomatoes—and, on occasion at least, pig’s feet and chitlins.
